Veggies and Fruits and Baked Goods, Oh My
Port Townsend & Coupeville- July 9
Two farmers markets in one day. Port Townsend's farmers market was much like the town- well put together, classy and um, formal. What struck me right off the bat was the higher prices as compared to Oakland and Portland. I guess that makes sense... does it? But it's always a joy to see vendors with their crafts.
I found the Coupeville farmers market on Whidbey Island to be a looser, friendlier affair. I got into lovely conversations with numerous vendors: a group of Whidbey Island authors selling their books, Master Gardeners at their booth, a cat and dog toy maker who told me where to go for a hike. Unfortunately I couldn't find the sign for the Whidbey Island market, although I saw it running by on the t-shirt of the market manager. Decided not to get in her way.

Thanks Mel! :)
